The Georgia World Congress Center Authority ("Authority") will receive responses from firms specializing in escalator restorative cleaning. The Authority retains the right to reject any or all submittals, and to waive technicalities, irregularities, and informalities, or cancel this procurement at any time. The Georgia World Congress Center is a three-building complex of approximately 3.9 million square feet of exhibition, event and meeting space. The campus is an extremely busy operation that hosts large, public events that bring hundreds of thousands of guests through our doors. We are currently seeking pricing for full restorative cleaning services for our 71 escalators units campus-wide. Contractors interested in competing for this work should familiarize themselves with the campus, the location of the work areas, and the complexities of the event schedules of the facilities. GENERAL SCOPE For the purposes of this solicitation, restorative cleaning is defined to mean the full and complete removal of all surface dirt, grime, oil, dust, debris, stains, and any other foreign matter from all treads, risers, floor landing plates (pit covers) and handrails. Work should be completed in such a manner to ensure that all surfaces are cleaned from edge to edge, including the areas directly under the side brushes. While it will be up to the contractor to determine the means and methods to accomplish this scope, it is anticipated that the work may require the use of cleaning machines, hand brushes, degreasers, neutral cleaners, and other appropriate cleaning tools and methods. Each proposer must identify the tools, machines and chemicals that they propose to use, each of which will be subject to GWCC approval to ensure that escalators are not damaged.
