Question Cut-off Date: Feb 9, 2022, 3:30:00 AM The Work includes an annual contract paid on a monthly basis for regular landscaping maintenance at Seattle Tacoma International Airport (STIA) and surrounding properties. The monthly maintenance work includes furnishing all labor, tools, specialized equipment, materials, supervision and transportation to provide weed control, litter removal, removal of cuttings, care and maintenance for: irrigation systems, lawns, all planters, landscaped areas, trees, shrubs and other plant materials within the project limits for healthy growth, neatly trimmed and visually attractive landscaped areas. The contract may also include Work outside of the monthly maintenance. The Contractor shall furnish all labor, tools, equipment, materials and incidentals necessary to perform the work as requested by the Port of Seattle via a Work Authorization. All Contractor labor shall be provided as defined by the labor classifications per the Schedule of Unit Prices listed in Document 00 41 00 - Bid Form. This may include irrigation repairs, diseased/distress/dead plant replacement, herbicides, fertilizer, earth movement (slides), plant/pest control, maintenance support for mitigation areas, tree topping, tree cutting, tree removal, stump removal, hydro seeding and any other landscape/plant related items that are not normally associated with the recurring general maintenance. Recycling of waste from the projects and use of recycled products is encouraged. The contract will be awarded for an estimated amount not to exceed $300,000.00, which includes Washington State Sales Tax.
The contract will last one (1) year, 365 calendar days, from the official contract award date, which is the date the Port of Seattle signs the Agreement, or until the contract amount is depleted, whichever comes first. This contract contains an option to extend the contract time up to 12 months beyond the original contract completion date. Performance and Payment bonds will be required with the Contract. Each bond shall be in the full amount of the contract sum.
No bid bond is required. Labor and Industries require a "Statement of Intent to Pay Prevailing Wages" and "Affidavit of Wages Paid". The expense of such is the responsibility of the Contractor. If the Port exercises its option to extend the contract an additional year, then new Intents and Affidavits will be required for the additional contract year at the prevailing wage rates published at that time. The contract rates will be amended to reflect the changes in prevailing wage, if any. A portion of this Contract requires work to be performed within an area of the Airport controlled for security reasons. All Contractor personnel working in restricted areas (including AOA, Secured, SIDA and Sterile areas) on this project shall have Port of Seattle airport-issued identification / access badges in accordance with Title 49, Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), Part 1540/1542 and the Airport Security Plan. Bidders should consider the impact of acquiring badges when preparing their bids. The Port reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to waive any informality, to accept any alternate bids, and to make such award that it deems to be in its best interest and pursuant to the terms of the General Conditions. Contract time extends from Execution of the contract through Completion as defined in the General Conditions.
