This Project Manual and accompanying Drawings provide for labor, materials, plant, supplies, equipment, facilities and appurtenances necessary for preparation of and work necessary for construction and completion of the project titled, Sheriff's Sub-Station, LaSalle Parish Sheriff's Office, 3719 Main Street (Hwy 165), Olla, LA 71465 A. Project consists of: 1. Construction of a single story building on an existing concrete building slab. Wall framing is 2 x 4 wood studs, typically, with additional framing at plumbing walls. Roof framing is single-slope/shed roof wood trusses. Exterior wall finish is metal siding, horizontal, on furring strips. Roofing is corrugated metal panels. Windows are aluminum storefront framing system. 2. Special construction for ballistic-rated wall panels, door & frame, window, service window. 3. Coordination required for telecommunications/radio equipment and cabling by others. 4. Provision made for emergency generator for electrical service. Contract Time shall be two hundred forty (240) consecutive calendar days. Documents are available in either electronic or paper form. All bids must be accompanied by an original bid security equal to five (5%) of the total amount bid and must be in the form of a Certified Check, Cashier's Check, Bank or Postal Money Order, or Bid Bond. The successful Bidder shall be required to furnish a Performance Bond and Payment Bond written by a company licensed to do business in Louisiana, in an amount equal to 100% of the Contract Sum. Bids shall be accepted from Contractors who are licensed under LA. R.S. 37:2150-2163 for the classification of Building Construction. Bidder is required to comply with provisions and requirements of LA R.S. No Bid may be withdrawn for a period of forty-five (45) days after receipt of Bids, except under the provisions of LA. R.S. 38:2214. Awards will not be made on the date of the bid opening but will be awarded by the Sheriff's Office at a later meeting 38:2212 (A)(l)(c). A political subdivision upon receipt of bids for the undertaking of any public works contract shall act within forty-five (45) calendar days of such receipt to award said contract to the lowest responsible bidder or rejects all bids. Therefore, the contractor cannot withdraw the bid for at least forty-five (45) calendar days. The Entity reserves the right to reject any and all Bids for just cause as allowed by LA R.S. 38:2214. In accordance with La. R.S. 38:2212 (A)(l)(b), the provisions and requirements of this section, those stated in the Advertisement for Bids, and those required on the bid form shall not be considered as informalities and shall not be waived by any public entity.
