Site work and paving for a civil project in Mount Pleasant, Wisconsin. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project; road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.
The Base Bid work for the above contract includes installation of a new storm sewer system on the north side of Kraut Road, between Robert Street and Northwestern Avenue (CTH H). The new system will cross under Kraut Road and continue south, to Hoods Creek. Major work items and approximate quantities for which bids are requested include: 1172 LF of storm sewer, consisting of 24- and 36-inch concrete pipes, and 2400 SY of landscape restoration. These improvements include clearing and grubbing, new driveway aprons, storm sewer relay, storm sewer manholes, sawing asphalt and concrete, excavation common, landscape restoration, traffic control, and erosion control. This is a unit price contract. The estimated quantities as indicated on the Bid Schedule are inserted only for the purpose of determining the low bidder. The Contract letting shall be subject to the provisions of Sections 61.54 and 66.0901 of the Wisconsin Statutes. Bids shall be submitted on the bid form provided and all blanks must be filled in for the bid to be accepted. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of 45 days from the date of the bid opening. Failure to list subcontractors or suppliers may be cause for rejection of the Bid. All bidders, and sub-contractors, must file a "3-Year Contractor's Qualification Application," and other documents with the Bid (see Instructions to Bidders). NOTE: ALL applications that were previously approved under the last 3-year cycle expired on 1/31/2019. Therefore, ALL bidders and subcontractors that did NOT submit an application form for bidding on a project after the above date, MUST submit a new application form and $75.00 application fee in order to be considered for this project. All completed 3-Year Contractor's Qualification Applications should be submitted directly to the Village of Mount Pleasant. As a part of their Bids, Bidders shall submit a full and complete list of: 1) all of their proposed Subcontractors, and 2) the class of work which each will perform. The selected Contractor shall not alter this list without the written consent of the Owner. The PS & CD require that the selected Contractor and Subcontractor(s) furnish a Certificate of Insurance. Bids shall be accompanied by Bid Security in the form of a Bid Bond, certified check, or cashier's check made payable to the Owner in an amount of five (5) percent of the Bidder's maximum Bid price. If the successful bidder fails to execute the contract and furnish the required bonds within 15 days after the Award, the Bid Security shall be forfeited to Owner as liquidated damages. The Owner has the right to reject any and/or all bids received, to waive any minor defects or irregularities that may be found in the bids, and to accept the bid that is in the best interest of the Owner, subject to the provisions of Sections 62.15 and 66.0901 of the Wisconsin Statutes. Bidder awarded a contract for the work shall be required to furnish a Performance Bond and a Payment Bond in the full amount of the contract price.
