Demolition, site work, paving and new construction of a bridge / tunnel in Northern Cambria, Pennsylvania. Completed plans call for the demolition of a bridge / tunnel; for the construction of a bridge / tunnel; for site work for a bridge / tunnel; and for paving for a bridge / tunnel.

Replacement of the existing deteriorated St. Stans Avenue bridge superstructure over Walnut Run with a new bridge superstructure, the installation of reinforced concrete beam seats, cheek walls, and wing wall tops at each abutment, reinforced concrete underpinning repair and scour protection, and minor roadway work The St. Stans Avenue Over Walnut Run Bridge Superstructure Replacement Project includes replacing the existing deteriorated St. Stans Avenue bridge superstructure over Walnut Run with a new bridge superstructure consisting of new rolled steel I-Beams, steel backwalls, guiderail system, nail laminated timber deck, and steel bearings. Work will also include stone masonry block removal at each abutment as indicated. Reinforced concrete caps will be poured to provide new beam seats, cheek walls, and wing wall tops at each abutment. Reinforced concrete underpinning repair and rip rap for scour protection are required at the base of both abutments extending full length along the abutments and each wing wall. Minor roadway approach work will also be included. A pre-bid conference will not be held for this project. A certified check or bank draft, payable to the order of Northern Cambria Borough or negotiable U.S. Government Bonds (at par value), or a satisfactory Bid Bond on the form provided, executed by the Bidder and an acceptable surety (Surety companies must appear on the Treasury Department's most current list (Circular 570 as amended) and be authorized to transact business in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania), in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the total of the Bid shall be submitted with each bid to guarantee the Bidder's entrance into a contract if given the award. The Bidder shall include the fully completed Non-Collusion Affidavit with the bid. No bid bond shall be waived or returned because the Bidder has failed to or cannot comply with any requirements set forth in the plans, specifications or any applicable statutes of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, or any applicable municipal ordinances. The successful bidder will be required to furnish and pay for satisfactory Performance and Payment Bonds, each in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract Price on the forms provided, with a surety company listed on the Treasury Department's most current list (Circular 570 as amended) and be authorized to transact business in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. The Owner shall award the contract to the lowest responsible bidder or shall reject all bids within 60 days of the date of the bid opening, and no bidder may withdraw his/her bid before the expiration of such 60-day period; PROVIDED, however, that if the award of the contract is delayed by a required approval of another government agency, the sale of bonds or the award of the grant or grants, the Owner shall reject all bids or award the contract to the lowest responsible bidder within 120 days of the date of the BID opening, and no bidder may withdraw his/her bid before the expiration of such 120-day period. Thirty (30) day extensions of the date for the award of the contract may be made by the mutual written consent of the Owner and the lowest responsible bidder. Northern Cambria Borough reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive informalities in the bidding.
