The Town of Mount Airy is soliciting bids from water meter installation contractors for the installation of an Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) system and appropriate water meters for all residential and commercial properties in the Town limits. There will not be a pre-bid meeting for this project. However, Contractors may contact the Town Engineer with any questions that they might have. The cost of online scope and bidding documents is $0.00. If Contractor requires printed documents, then they may do so upon request to the Town Engineer at a fee determined at that time. A list of prospective bidders will be developed for all Contractors who pickup documents from the Town Hall or the Town s website. Bids from prospective bidders who have not obtained these documents from one of these places will not be accepted. Inquiries concerning the scope and bidding documents or other technical questions shall be directed to the Town Engineer at 301-829-1424. The Town of Mount Airy hereby reserves the right, which is understood and agreed to by all Bidders, to reject any and all Bids and to waive any omissions, errors, mistakes, defects or irregularities in any Bid, and to accept the Bid which, in the judgment of the Owner, is to its best interest. The Water Meter Installation Contractor (from here on known as Contractor) shall supply all equipment and labor necessary to install approximately 3,500 Water Meters and Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) system endpoints. The base station(s) will be installed at the elevated water tower(s) by others. (b) The Contractor shall also provide project management, data integration services, and a field service software with a Utility Portal allowing electronic data uploads to billing software, and full transparency of project progress as described herein. (c) The Contractor shall provide administration and scheduling of all meters as defined in this Scope e Work will be substantially completed within 180 calendar days after the date when the Contract Times commence to run and completed and ready for final payment within 210 calendar days after the date when the Contract Times commence to run.
