Bids will be received, for the construction of Asphalt Overlay Project that includes Asphalt Reconstruction, Milling Asphalt Pavement, Asphalt Concrete Pavement Patching, Asphalt Concrete Pavement, Pavement Markings and other work in connection therewith. Bids will be on a unit price basis; segregated Bids will not be accepted. To qualify to bid, each bidder shall be a properly licensed Contractor in accordance with Louisiana Revised Statutes 37:2150-2163 for the classification of Highway, Street and Bridge Construction. The Contractor shall show his license number on the bid form and on the envelope containing his Bid. Bidding Documents shall not be issued later than 24 hours prior to the hour and date set for the opening of Bids. Bids must be submitted on forms provided in the Bidding Documents. Each Bid shall be accompanied by Bid security made payable to the Iberia Parish Government, in an amount of at least five percent of the Bidder's maximum Bid price and in the form of a certified check or a Bid Bond in accordance with LA R.S. 38:2218. This check or Bid Bond shall be given as a guarantee that the Bidder will execute the Agreement, should it be awarded to him. The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all Bids for just cause. In accordance with LA R.S. 38:2212(B)(1), the provisions and requirements of LA R.S. 38:2212, and those stated in the bidding documents shall not be waived by any public entity.
