As of December 20, 2022, construction commenced on December 11, 2022 and is expected to be completed by May, 2023. The work includes but is not necessarily limited to: (1) a Base Bid including the Runway 7-25 pavement rehabilitation, the Runway End and Edge Lighting Systems improvements, the Runway REIL's installation, the Runway Airfield Signage System improvements, the Airfield Windcone improvements, the Airfield Electrical Vault improvements, and the Runway pavement marking installation; (2) an Additive Alternative No. 1 including the north Taxiway Edge Lighting System improvements; (3) an Additive Alternative No. 2 including the south Taxiway Edge Lighting System improvements; and (4) an Additive Alternative No. 3 including the north Taxiway pavement rehabilitation and reconstruction, and the connector taxiways rehabilitation; and all other work as may be necessary to complete the contract in a satisfactory and acceptable manner in full compliance with the plans, specifications and terms of the contract. The allowable time to complete all work in this contract for the Base Bid is 94 calendar days. An additional 21 calendar days will be allowed if any combination of the Additive Alternates are awarded. It is agreed by the parties to the contract that in case all the work called for under the contract in all parts and requirements is not finished or completed within the number of days expressed in the contract, damage will be sustained by the City, and that it is and will be impracticable and extremely difficult to ascertain and determine the actual damage which the City will sustain in the event of and by reason of the delay; and it is therefore agreed that the Contractor will pay to the City, the sum of $500 per day, for each and every calendar day's delay in finishing the work in excess of the number of contract days prescribed above.
