The purpose of this Request for Proposals (RFP) is to invite Construction Management firms (Proponents), with a successful track record of providing Construction services for the delivery of institutional facilities and infrastructure in higher education settings, to submit a proposal for the provision of Construction Management services to The University of British Columbia (the “Owner”) for the IA1Tenant Improvement Project. A. The Faculty of Critical and Creative Studies (FCCS) at UBCO and the UBCO D.I.C.E. program (Design, Innovation, Creativity and Entrepreneurship) within the Faculty of Applied Sciences, requires a new facilitated studio environment which can accommodate a diverse portfolio of design disciplines. Creative technologies will require individual studios for four UBCO researchers and their respective grad students, as well as several shared performance-, maker-, and computingspaces. Accommodation of this program will be made under Tenant Improvement 2. B. Concurrently, the Faculty of Science’s Computer Science Department requires space for the accommodation of four researchers and their respective grad students. Under Tenant Improvement 3, the space will need to house a Vicon Tracking System, Omni System, OptiTrack, AR/VR/ZSpace, Visbox, drone testing space and some quiet study space. (equipment descriptions will be provided at time of design). Accommodation of the FCCS space will be made under Tenant Improvement 2 and will occupy approx. 3,700 sf. Accommodation of the Computer Science department’s component will be made under Tenant Improvement 3 and will occupy approx. 2,240sf.
