As of May 9, 2024, per owner a contractor was selected, and they subcontracted all other partners. Project is complete. The District is expanding and renovating the existing middle school. The project includes the addition of six classrooms (similar in size and style of existing classrooms), a central office space with two private offices and staff room, additional restrooms (4), and retrofitting a fire suppression system (sprinklers) into the existing classrooms. The Design Firm selected through this RFP will provide conceptual design options and proceed through schematic design, design development, bidding, construction documents and construction administration. Cost estimates must be provided at each design phase. The scope of services will include the hiring and management of subconsultants necessary for the successful completion of the project. Subcontractors will be paid through the fee the City pays to the selected Design Firm. Previously, the District Maintenance Committee reviewed and approved an RFP for competitive bidding to deliver the redesign of the Middle School through a Construction Manager/General Contractor ("CM/GC") delivery method. This RFP will be used to select a Design Firm well qualified to deliver the requested services within a CM/GC context. Responses to this RFP will be reviewed, scored, and ranked according to the criteria and process defined in the RFP. The District will select a Design Firm it determines to be the most qualified to provide the necessary services to redevelop the property through a CM/GC delivery method.
