Work includes, mobilization, appropriate traffic control, saw cutting of existing pavement, excavating, removing and legally disposing of the existing temporary asphalt patches, re-compaction of the existing aggregate base material so its suitable for pavement placement, tack coating, placement and compaction of a Type 3 Hot Mix Asphalt pavement, sealing, installation of approximately 50 concrete water and gas valve collars, adjustment of approximately 5 concrete manhole collars, other miscellaneous items, and all other work in accordance with the general provisions and special provisions of this contract The work consists of constructing approximately 175 Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA) patches totaling approximately 26,000 square feet of 4 to 8-inch deep permanent HMA patches This section covers the furnishing of materials, equipment, and labor for any work not included in the plans, specifications, or Schedule of Items and Prices. Provisions of sections 100.24 and 100.25 of the Standard Specifications for Public Works Construction (SSPWC) apply to work covered by this specification. A bid item has been established to compensate for any costs allowed as a result of unforeseen interferences, changes to the work, or other items in connection with constructing the improvements, which require work or material by the Contractor in addition to those items included in the Contract. The amount to be included in the Contract for such work shall be as set forth in the Proposal-Schedule of Items and Prices and must be included by the Bidder.
