Engineer's or Architect's Estimate of Cost: $720,000.00 - $800,000.00 *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document. All Contractors and their Subcontractors must be prequalified by ODOT for work being performed on this project. Bids submitted by Contractors that are not prequalified will not be considered. The work covered by the plans and specifications includes: pavement planing, asphalt concrete, catch basin, and curb ramp. All work under this contract shall be completed by July 29, 2022. Pursuant to R.C. 153.01 et. seq., the bid must be accompanied by an original sealed document (uploaded for online bidders) in the form of a bond for the full amount (100%) of the bid OR by a certified check, cashier's check, or irrevocable letter of credit equal to ten percent (10%) of the amount bid, drawn on a solvent bank, payable to the Treasurer of Lake County, Ohio, as surety that if the bid is accepted, a contract will be entered into and its performance properly secured. All online Bidders must submit original within 3 days of bid opening. Should any bid be rejected said surety shall forthwith be returned to the bidder and should any bid be accepted such bid bond, certified check, cashier's check, or letter of credit will be returned to the bidder upon proper execution and securing of the contract. The successful bidder will be required to execute the contract within ten (10) days after the award of the work to him/her, and he/she shall furnish acceptable bond or surety, if not filed previously to the satisfaction of the County of Lake, Ohio for the faithful performance of said contract in the sum of one hundred percent (100%) of the total amount of the bid. In case of failure to execute the contract as stated or to furnish bond and/or surety, the bidder shall be considered to have abandoned the contract and is then liable for the difference between his/her bid and the next lowest bid, not to exceed ten percent (10%) of the amount bid. The contract shall be awarded to the lowest and best bidder. SCOPE The LAK-Chestnut Street (CR 329) Resurfacing Project, is defined below: A. This project will consist of two parts. Part 1 is the Lake County portion of the project (STA 0+27 - STA 35+42.5, PID No. 112483). The pavement shall be planed at a depth of four inches (4”). The surface shall be tack coated with the installation of a scratch surface and geotextile fabric. Two layers of asphalt concrete will then be installed. B. Part 2 is the City of Painesville portion of the project (STA 35+42.5 – STA 70+11.5, PID No. 112476). The pavement shall be planed at a depth of three inches (3”). Two layers of asphalt concrete with a geotextile fabric will be installed. Also, curb ramps within the City of Painesville portion will be upgraded. C. A pre-construction conference shall be scheduled with the Office of the Lake County Engineer at least seven (7) days prior to the performance of this contract. D. The work covered by this specification consists of furnishing all plans, labor, equipment, and materials in performing all operations necessary for the LAK-Chestnut Street (CR 329) Resurfacing Project in complete and strict accordance with these specifications
