As of December 4, 2023, further details regarding design and construction have not been identified. A firm timeline for construction has not been established; however, funding is allotted to fiscal year 2024. A detailed scope has not yet been released. Covering the post aeration tanks will have a beneficial impact on the final effluent going into the Olentangy River from the wastewater treatment plant. The sunlight and high-quality air-infused effluent from the treatment process is creating an ideal breeding ground for algae growth, this algae does have a negative impact on the Olentangy River, while also creating a constant maintenance task of emptying and cleaning down the tanks themselves. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
