Demolition and site work for a municipal facility in Saint Louis, Missouri. Completed plans call for the demolition of a municipal facility; and for site work for a municipal facility.
Demolition Requirements 1. The project shall include the demolition and removal of all construction materials, roofing, siding, wood, bricks, concrete foundations, footings, trash, and debris. 2. The contractor shall start work immediately upon City's issuance of the Notice to Proceed. The City shall issue a Notice to Proceed for each property. Demolition for each structure shall be completed within 60 days of the Notice to Proceed. It is imperative the structure is demolished within 60 daysof the Notice to Proceed. 3. The contractor is responsible for acquiring all demolition and waste disposal permits from St. Louis County - Health Department and the City of Ferguson. Fees for the City of Ferguson permits shall be waived. The contractor will also have each property tested for asbestos and lead prior to demo as per St Louis County Department of Health guidelines. 4. Disconnecting and capping water and sewer lines will be completed by the contractor. Since this is also part of the City of Ferguson Demolition Permit process, the City of Ferguson and appropriate utility company will inspect these activities to ensure full compliance is met. In one instance a water line may remain on the site, the City will provide the necessary plumber to conduct any needed work if needed. 5. HVAC units, florescent light fixtures, and similar hazardous items must be removed and disposed in the appropriate manner. 6. If asbestos is found in any of the structure, it will be removed by a Missouri DNR- licensed asbestos removal contractor and sent to a landfill approved by the Missouri Department of Natural Resources. This will be transacted as a changeorder to the original bid price. The contractor will procure at least two bids for remediation services and the city will be allowed to review the bids prior toaward. 7. Appropriate erosion control measures will be in place to assure that no sediment enters and waterway or storm water conveyance. Silt fencing shall be placed between the demolition area and any watercourse to capture potential runoff /or debris. 8. The contractor shall erect temporary plastic safety fencing around the perimeter of the site, to ensure all debris/solid waste is captured and disposed in the appropriate manner. 9. There shall be no burning of debris onsite. 10.There shall be no onsite fuel storage for the equipment. 11.It will be the responsibility of the contractor to ensure equipment is properly maintained and in appropriate working order, to avoid oil and gas leakage The City of Ferguson owns the property at 9315 W. Florissant Rd. Ferguson, MO 63135 and is preparing to construct a new community park on the site.Therefore, the City of Ferguson desires to procure a demolition company to remove all structures, debris, and trash from the property. All proposals shall be accompanied by a bid bond in the amount of 10% of the proposal amount.
