Site work for a civil project in Hackensack, New Jersey. Completed plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel; and water / sewer project.
In order to submit a bid, contractors must get docs from Suburban Consulting Engineers, Inc or their bid will be disqualified. Clay Street Combined Sewer Separation Contract 2 - Camden Street to Outfall The work will include but is not limited to the installation of approximately eight hundred thirty-five linear feet (835 LF) of 48"x96" precast concrete box culvert, three (3) precast concrete manhole chambers of various sizes, approximately four hundred fifty linear feet (450 LF) of reinforced concrete pipe ranging from 24" to 42" in diameter, and six (6) stormwater manhole structures of various sizes. The work will also include the construction of one (1) concrete headwall and outfall with inline check valves and outlet protection, along with all associated site clearing, tree removal, disposal of excess soils, environmental protection, traffic control measures, surface restoration, pipe abandonment, concrete encasement, and utility relocations. The work will take place within the Right of Way (R.O.W.) of E. Camden Street, Block 402.01, Lot 24 known as Foschini Park, and Block 402.01, Lot 40. The Contractor must abide by the conditions and requirements of the Scope of Work and all coordination with Property Owners. Complementary work to furnish and install accessory materials may be if and were directed by the Owner. A certified check or cashier's check made payable to the order of the City of Hackensack, or a duly executed Bid Bond, in the amount of ten percent (10%) of each Bid, but in no case in excess of $20,000.00 must be deposited by the Bidder together with a Surety Consent evidencing that They can obtain the required Performance Bond. All applicable Surety Bonds required in connection with the advertisement and award of building Contracts or Sub-Agreements must be written by a Surety Company listed on the Federal Treasury List (Department Circular 570Surety Companies Acceptable on Federal Bonds), incorporated herein by reference. Copies of this Document may be obtained from the Department. The Successful Bidder shall be required to deliver to the Owner an executed Performance Bond of a responsible indemnity Company authorized to do business in the State of New Jersey. C.40A:11-16) Section 1 of P.L.2001, c.134 Business Registration (N.J.S.A. C.52:32-44) The right is reserved to waive any informalities, to accept Bids which it deems most favorable to the interest of the City to make an award on each item separately or as a whole and to accept any Bid or to reject any or all Proposals in accordance with the Specifications and the Bid forms. Owner and Contractor recognize that time is of the essence of this agreement and that the Owner will suffer financial loss if the work is not ready for acceptance by the Owner within the times specified in , plus any extensions thereof allowed in accordance with . They also recognize the delays, expense and difficulties involved in proving in a legal proceeding the actual loss suffered by the Owner if the work is not complete on time. Accordingly, instead of requiring any such proof, Owner and Contractor agree that as liquidated damages for delay (but not as a penalty) the Contractor shall pay Owner the sum of $1,425.00 for each calendar day (Sundays and legal holidays included) of delay.
