The Project includes the following Work: - Sequential removal, on-site storage, and reinstallation of original cut stone exterior stair treads at three locations. - Cast in place concrete grade beams within and under the existing stairs at three locations. - Drilled helical piers to support the grade beams within and under the existing exterior stairs at three locations. - Stainless steel ledger angles and fasteners and ancillary quantities of steel refinishing and metal fabrications. - Silicone and 2-part polyurethane joint sealants. - Ancillary quantities of slabs on grade, excavations, rigid insulation as concrete formwork, and aggregate fill. - An Alternate Bid for additional sidewalk replacement. Owner anticipates that the Project's total Base Bid price will be approximately $222,000 with Alternate Bid 1 of approximately $20,000. The Project has on on-site start date of 27 May 2022 and an expected duration not extending beyond 12 August 2022. All Bids are to be submitted on the basis of cash payment for the Work, on a Bid Form furnished by the Engineer in a securely sealed Bidding envelope prepared as outlined in the Instruction to Bidders contained within the Project Manual. Each Bid shall be accompanied by a separate envelope containing a Bidder's Bond, payable to Grand Forks Public Schools, in a sum equal to five percent (5%) of the full amount of the Bid, executed by the Bidder as principal and by a surety company authorized to do business in the State of North Dakota, conditioned that if the principal's Bid be accepted and the contract awarded within ten (10) days after Notice of Award, will execute and effect a Contract in accordance with the terms of his Bid and a Contractor's Bond as required by the laws of the State of North Dakota. Each bid shall contain a copy of the license or certificate of renewal thereof issued by the Secretary of State enclosed in the required bid bond envelope. All Bidders must be licensed for the highest amount of their Bid, as provided by Section 43-07-05 of the North Dakota Century Code. Cost of preparation of Bids shall be borne by the Bidder. Contracts shall be awarded on the basis of the lowest and best Bid submitted by a responsible and responsive Bidder deemed most favorable to Grand Forks Public Schools' interest. No Bid will be read or considered which does not fully comply with the Bid preparation requirements. Any deficient Bid submitted will be returned to the Bidder unopened. Grand Forks Public Schools reserves the right to reject any and all Bids, to waive any informality in any Bid, and to hold all Bids for a period not to exceed sixty (60) days from the date of opening Bids.
