Introduction. Walla Walla Wainwright Veterans Medical Center, 77 Wainwright Boulevard, Walla Walla WA 98366 is requiring an Arborist Contractor to perform the task to remove unwanted trees, stumps and branches that present a risk to Personnel and Patients. The Veterans Administration Medical Center of Walla Walla, Washington, requires this project to enforce the safety and historic preservation of the historical buildings and landscaping. Scope. The work will generally include elements of the following: Tree and stump removal of 7 trees as shown on campus map Table A Campus Tree Removal. The contractor will remove and haul all items including the trunk, branches and stump grinding residual. Stump grinding to 4"-6" below surface of ground. The contractor will clean the disturbed area and shall restore the landscaping to blend in with surrounding area. Contractor to provide all labor, materials, tools and equipment necessary for conditions of the project described herein. Contractor shall reach out to the POC from Facilities Management Services (FMS) to coordinate day and time of work to be performed. Contractor will communicate with the POC their arrival and departure from premises. Period of Performance: Work to be completed within 30 days of receipt of contract award. Safety Requirements. In the performance of this contract, the Contractor shall take such safety precautions as the POC may determine to be reasonably necessary to protect the lives and health of patients and employees on site. The POC shall notify the Contractor of any safety issues and the action necessary to correct these issues. Such notice, when served on the Contractor or his representative at the work site, shall be deemed sufficient for the corrective actions to be taken. If the Contractor fails or refuses to comply promptly, the POC may issue an order stopping all or part of the work and hold the Contractor in default. Qualifications of Key Personnel: The Contractor shall be a certified Arborist and provide proof of such qualifications. Contactor shall be licensed in the state where the service is provided.
