The Work for this project consists of the following scope items: Oak Street Remediation, further described as follows: The soil along the southern property boundary of the subject parcel which is developed as a recreational area including a playground, baseball field, walking paths and landscaped areas has been determined to contain impacted soils at concentrations above applicable limits under the Massachusetts Contingency Plan and the USEPA Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA). To allow for continued use of the property as a recreational facility, the soil will be consolidated and capped, which involves placement of an engineered barrier consisting of an impervious liner and clean soils over the impacted soils in order to prevent human exposure to the soil and to eliminate the possibility of migration of the contaminated soil. In addition to the consolidation of impacted soils, the project will include adjustments to existing subsurface drainage infrastructure, installation of fencing, placement of rip rap on slopes and reseeding of the disturbed areas. The Successful Bidder agrees to pay as liquidated damages, the sum of four hundred ($400.00) per day for each calendar day ninety (90) calendar days (substantial completion) for which work in not substantially completed and eight hundred ($800.00) per day for each calendar day beyond one hundred thirty-five (135) calendar days.
