Bid deposit required in the form of a bid bond, certified check, or a treasurer's or cashier's check in the amount of not less than 5% of the total bid amount. The bidder must agree to commence work on or before a date specified in a written notice to proceed by the Town of Wellesley and to fully complete the project within three hundred sixty-five (365) consecutive calendar days of that date. No work shall be performed during the time period of November 15 through April 1 without the express prior approval of the Town (note that the Town does not anticipate that it will approve work between December and April except in unusually dry conditions). Replacement of Water Main, Hydrants, and Valves; Installation of Sewer Main; Cleaning and Lining of Existing Water Main. The Project consists of the complete replacement of existing 6-inch diameter cast iron water main on Oakland Street with approximately 2,500 linear feet of 12-inch diameter ductile iron cement lined-pipe. The work on Oakland Street also consists of horizontal directional drilling 8" high-density polyethylene water main under an existing culvert, and installation of approximately 400 linear feet of polyvinyl chloride sewer pipe. The Project also consists of the complete cleaning and centrifugal lining with cement mortar of water mains on Jackson Road, Carver Road, Brewster Road, Winslow Road, Dudley Road, Priscilla Road, Seaward Road, Fells Road, Regis Road, and Fells Circle. The diameter of the water mains to be cleaned and cement lined vary from 6-inch to 10-inch. The total length of water main to be cleaned and lined under this project is approximately 6,800 linear feet.
