Firms shall be registered and licensed to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia to provide planning and design for a broad range of Planning, Architectural/Engineering Services for Federally Funded Projects at the direction of the Owner, on an as required basis. All services shall be provided in accordance with the specifications contained herein and attached hereto. The Owner intends to obtain professional services of, but not limited to, the following disciplines: Architectural, Construction Administration/Management, Civil Engineering, Surveying, Structural Engineering, Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, and Traffic/Transportation Planning/Engineering. The Fauquier County Government Procurement Division on behalf of the Board of Supervisors and Fauquier County issues this solicitation and the Fauquier County School Board, political subdivisions of the Commonwealth of Virginia, herein referred to collectively for convenience as "Owner". 1.1 For ease of reference, each organization submitting a response to the Request for Proposal hereinafter referred to as an "Offeror". An Offeror whose proposal would result in a formal agreement are hereinafter referred to as a "Firm" or "Consultant". 1.2 The Owner anticipates awarding multiple contracts to more than one, but not to exceed six (6), qualified prime Consultants or Firms because of this Request for Proposal. Offeror's shall clearly indicate which discipline they are submitting for Owner consideration, on the Certification Page. 1.3 The contents of the proposal submitted by the successful Offeror, this RFP (including general and special terms and conditions), and all modifications made thereof, will become part of any contract awarded resulting from this solicitation. The successful Firms will be required to sign a contract with the Owner, herein referred to as "Agreement" or "Contract". BACKGROUND: The Owner frequently requires professional Architectural/Engineering Services for investigations, studies, reports, cost estimates, designs, bid documents, and construction administration. The objective of the RFP is to reduce the cost and time of advertising, shorten the response time and improve the efficiency and clarity in the production of the contracts for professional services. Any resulting contract shall be non-exclusive and no specific amount of work is guaranteed because of this RFP. SCOPE OF SERVICES: The various disciplines for Consultant/Firm Professional Services are noted within this section. The scope of services for projects assigned under any contract resulting from this RFP will vary according to department/division requirements. Each project shall be negotiated separately. All Owner school and county departments will have the opportunity to utilize the resulting contracts as needs arise. The successful Firm(s) will be required to use terms and conditions and bidding instructions designated and/or prepared by the Owner for any documents prepared for purposes of bidding projects. The Owner terms and instructions may also include specific federal or, additional provisions, based on funding sources for projects, as a component of the solicitation documents. The potential tasks identified in this RFP are for information to the Offeror and for proposal evaluation purposes only. Tasks shall not be construed to represent any amount, which the Owner shall be obligated to purchase under the contract, or relieve the Firm of their obligation to fill all orders placed by the Owner.
