The Rockford Park District is seeking contractors to perform selective tree and shrub clearing, and tree removal and salvage within Sinnissippi Park. Grant funding for this project provided from the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity, an overall Business Enterprise Program (BEP) utilization goal of 25% has been determined with 20% of the grant dollars going to minority-owned business enterprises (MBEs) and 5% of the grant dollars going to women-owned business enterprises (WBEs). The individual MBE/ WBE utilization goals are based on the availability of certified vendors to perform the anticipated direct subcontracting opportunities of the Utilization Plan (UP). The Rockford Park District reserves the unrestricted right to reject any or all bids received, to waive or not to waive any informality, or to accept the bid considered to be in the best interest of the Park District. Contractor shall not pay less than the prevailing rates of wages to all laborers, workmen, and mechanics performing work under this contract, and shall comply with the requirements of the IL Wages of Employees on Public Works Act (820 ILCS 130/1-12).
