Site work and paving for a road / highway in New Berlin, Wisconsin. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.

The base bid consists of the rehabilitation of approximately 4.9 miles of roadways throughout the City. Alternate A consists of the reconstruction of Casper Drive, Alternate B consists of the reconstruction of the New Berlin Recycling Center Driveway, and Alternate C consists of rehabilitation of an additional 0.6 mile of roadway. Bids will be opened and publicly read aloud immediately after the specified closing time. Interested parties are invited to attend. Bids submitted after this time will not be accepted. The Contract letting shall be subject to the provisions of Sections 62.15, 66.29, 66.293, and 779.15 of the Wisconsin Statutes. Per Section 16.856 of the Wisconsin State Statutes the Prevailing Wage Rate does not apply to this project. Each Prime Contractor submitting a bid shall have on file a Bidders Proof of Responsibility Statement with the City Clerk on or before the date and time set for the Bid Opening. Bid security in the amount of not less than 5% of the bidder's maximum bid price and in the form of a bid bond, certified check or cashiers check (payable to the City of New Berlin) is required with the bid. The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids, the right to waive irregularities and informalities in bidding, the right to disregard all nonconforming, nonresponsive, unbalanced or conditional bids, and the right to accept the bid which best serves the interests of the City. The bidder to whom a Contract is awarded shall furnish Performance and Payment Bonds for the full amount of the Contract within 10 days of award or execution of the Contract. The Performance and Payment Bonds shall contain a provision to increase the Performance Bonds by the amount of any change orders that might increase the amount of the Contract price. If such bidder fails to execute and file such Contract, Performance and Payment Bonds, within the ten day period, the check, bond, or bank draft accompanying the bid shall be forfeited to the City of New Berlin as liquidated damages. The City reserves the right to postpone the award of the contract and no bids shall be withdrawn for a period not exceeding 60 days after the date and time set forth in the Bid Opening. The City further reserves the right to retain the bid security of the three (3) lowest bidders during that time. The project consists of furnishing all labor, equipment, and materials necessary to perform the work as called out on the plans. The work consists of either; pavement removal by milling, base repair, curb and gutter repair, manhole adjustments, and placing asphalt, or pulverizing, removal of excess pulverized material, grading, base repair, manhole adjustments, and placing asphalt. Approximate quantities of work are estimated as follows: Base Bid: Curb & Gutter Repairs 4,000 L.F. Asphalt Pavement 17,500 TON Milling Asphalt 30,000 S.Y. Pulverizing Asphalt 41,000 S.Y. Alternate A: Curb & Gutter Repairs 1,200 L.F. Common Excavation 4,400 C.Y. Asphalt Pavement 3,000 TON Alternate B: Driveway Reconstruction 1 LUMP SUM Alternate C: Asphalt Pavement 1,500 TON Milling Asphalt 8,300 S.Y.
