This notice is occasioned by the request of Virginia Electric and Power Company (DBA Dominion Energy Virginia) to be granted a utility easement to place electrical equipment and other facilities across City-owned property located in the County of Augusta at 230 Hundley Distiller Road. After the Mayor or other presiding officer of City Council receives and opens and reads aloud such bids, the Council will proceed with the continued consideration of the granting of the proposed easement in the mode prescribed by law and will conduct a public hearing. The right is hereby expressly reserved to reject any and all bids and to proceed as prescribed by law, as may be permitted by law. A descriptive notice of the proposed easement ordinance, including the full text of this advertised notice, includes the foregoing and following: To grant to a public service corporation doing business in the Commonwealth of Virginia, its successors and assigns, under the Code of Virginia, the right, for the term and upon the conditions stated in this ordinance and incorporated agreement, an easement authorizing the placement and maintenance of its electrical equipment and facilities across 230 Hundley Distiller Road, and for that purpose to use, erect, install, construct, repair, alter, add to, inspect, replace, reconstruct, maintain, or retain within the easement such wires, conduits, cables, transformers, transformer enclosures, concrete pads, manholes, handholes, connection boxes, accessories and appurtenances desirable in connection therewith, or other related property, equipment, or fixtures as may be necessary, useful, or appurtenant to the electrical equipment and facilities, and to provide such services over the electrical equipment and facilities as may be lawfully allowed. The proposed ordinance is authorized by, among other considerations, the Staunton City Charter, Chapter II, Section 11; Staunton City Code 2.10.190; and by Virginia Code Sections 15.2-2100, 15.2-2101. A true and complete copy of the proposed ordinance and form of agreement, including all of its terms and conditions, is on file and available for inspection during normal working hours at the office of the Clerk of Council. All persons wishing to be heard at the public hearings are invited to attend.
