This invitation is for the twice annual preventative maintenance for all water-cooled and air-cooled chillers on campus as outlined by the equipment breakdown Questions Due By: 2/25/22 no later than 4:00PM - Submit via the Q&A board within this electronic solicitation event. The work includes furnishing all labor, materials, equipment and services for the complete project including all items as indicated throughout the attached specifications. Work will begin immediately following an official Award of Contract and Purchase Order from Eastern Kentucky University. A point of contact for EKU Project Management will be provided to the awarded vendor at time of award. Eastern Kentucky University reserves the right to award in part or in whole and to award multiple suppliers/contracts if in the best interest o the university. Eastern Kentucky University will require the following services to be performed annually for each type of chiller noted below after the chillers have been turned off for the season. Air-Cooled Chillers: Clean all condenser coils with acidic base cleaner. Take oil samples and send off to ensure all is clean and operable. Tighten all electrical Connections and ensure no corrosion is found around terminals, from the starter to the chiller. Read and log all voltages on compressors and fan motors. Read and log all amperages on compressors and fan motors. Read and log all refrigerant pressures on each compressor for all circuits. Read and log all temperature drops across the chilled water barrels. Clean inlet water strainers on chiller. (if chiller has them). Water-Cooled Chillers: Remove all chiller barrel end caps. Bring in rodding machine. Rod out every individual tube in each chiller barrel. Provide and install new gaskets to put the barrel end caps back on. Take oil samples and send off to ensure all is clean and operable. Check oil pump for proper operation. Tighten all electrical Connections and ensure no corrosion is found around terminals, from the starter to the chiller. Read and log all voltages on compressors and fan motors. Read and log all amperages on compressors and fan motors. Read and log all refrigerant pressures on each compressor for all circuits. Read and log all temperature drops across the chilled water barrels. Clean inlet water strainers on chiller. (if chiller has them). Fall Shut-Down: Suitably prepare all chillers listed for winter period of no operation; check that oil heaters are functioning properly and are 'on'. The Contract resulting from this RFP and the Successful Offerors Proposal shall have an initial term of one (1) year. The effective date of this contract is to be determined.
