Although a firm timeline for construction has not been determined, construction is not expected to start prior to March 2023. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: The Town of Newington is soliciting sealed proposals from qualified engineers to provide professional services related to two streetscape projects within the Town, for the North and South Business Districts. This Scope of Services shall apply to both projects, which total roughly 1,200 linear feet of streetscape improvements. Both projects are being funded with State money, so Connecticut Human Rights and Opportunities (CHRO) set asides will be required as part of the bid documents prepared by the Consultant. There is a range of between $600,000 and $800,000 budgeted for the north business district, and a range of $300,000 to $500,000 budgeted for the south business district. Theses ranges include both design and construction. Construction of the South Business District streetscape project is anticipated to take place in calendar year 2024. Construction of the North Business District streetscape project is anticipated to take place in calendar year 2025. The survey task includes research and field survey for property survey and topographic survey to supplement the GIS base map. Consultant shall coordinate all conceptual, preliminary and final design with the appropriate Town of Newington staff and also, if necessary, with any committee designated by the Newington Town Council.
