The board of education of the city of chicago invites pre-qualified General Contractors to bid on the project/projects referenced below. Bids must be submitted on the forms issued as part of the Bidding Documents. Bidding Contractors are required to be pre-qualified with the Chicago Public Schools for this project. The form of agreement for the work will be the General Contracting Services Agreement. This contract is subject to all of the terms and conditions of the General Contracting Services Agreement between the Board and General Contractor dated as of January 1, 2017. CONTRACT PERIOD: Contractor to Achieve Preliminary Acceptance By: Friday, August 5, 2022 PAYMENT AND PERFORMANCE BOND: 100% of the Base Contract Price Bids received after this date and time will not be accepted. Representatives from the Board of Education will be present for the opening. Each bid reading will be streamed via Google Hangouts. Effective immediately, vendors will no longer need to mail in, or drop off, their paper submissions with original signatures and seals. BID BOND: A bid bond in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total Bid price is required. The undersigned hereby proposes to perform the Alternate Work items described below and in the Contract Documents for the below-stated additions or deductions to the lump sum Base Bid. It is further agreed that the Alternate Work shall be performed in accordance with all applicable provisions of the Contract Documents and that the prices stated for such Alternate Work include the cost of all applicable bonds, taxes overhead, profit, and any adjustments in the work of other trades as may be necessary to perform the Alternate Work. It is understood between the Board and the Contractor that the Board may elect to accept any or all of the Alternate Work items at the time of Contract Award. Work shall only be authorized upon written direction by the Board or through its duly authorized representatives.
