The VA's Office of Information & Technology is located at the Edward Hines, Jr. VA Hospital campus, Hines OI&T Field Office 5000 South 5th Ave., BLDG 215, Hines, IL 60141. The existing UPS System requires partial replacement with a model that will meet requirements outlined in this document. The vendor will procure, deliver, installation and configure the UPS System for the CSOC area room 147X. Project Plan Contract Period: Base POP Begin: 03-08-2022 POP End: 05-07-2022 Technical Requirements The existing UPS Unit is an APC Symmetra PX 80kW modular system comprising four (4) contiguous 24" cabinets and an additional 24" power distribution cabinet (located in a separate IT equipment row). The leftmost cabinet of the main system (APC Symmetra Bypass PDU Cabinet, model OG-PD80G6FK1-M1) contains the system maintenance bypass, input, and output power circuit breakers, a step-down transformer 480V to 208V-120V, and a rear-mounted power distribution panel that supplies power to IT equipment enclosures located in the same equipment row. (A sub-feed breaker in this cabinet feeds the additional power distribution cabinet in the next equipment row). The second cabinet is the modular UPS frame, containing nine (9) 10kW UPS modules (80kW in an N+1 internal configuration). The third cabinet currently contains eight (8) rows of battery modules, with four (4) batteries per row (32 batteries total). The fourth cabinet is another battery cabinet currently containing four (4) rows of batteries (16 batteries total). The existing UPS system UPS and Battery components and cabinets are the components that require replacement. Both the first cabinet (maintenance bypass, transformer, and power distribution) and the power distribution cabinet in the second IT equipment row can and should be reused. The UPS and Battery modules will require an N+1 topology; UPS Modules and Battery Modules will require one (1) additional module each for maintenance. The first cabinet intakes generator-backed building power at 480V 3W+G, 160A, 60Hz, and supplies it to the UPS system at 120/208V, 3W+N+G WYE, 280A, 100kVA, 60Hz. Therefore, the inputs to the replacement UPS system must be compatible with these input supply conditions (120/208V, 3W+N+G WYE, 280A, 100kVA, 60Hz).
