Prices shall remain valid for a period of thirty (30) days after receipt of bids. Work shall begin in the spring of 2022 and shall be substantially completed by October 1, 2022. The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all Bids, to waive irregularities and informalities therein and to award the contract as it shall deem to be in the best interests of the Utility. Each bidder shall accompany its bid with a bid security as security that the successful bidder will enter into a contract for the work bid upon and will furnish after the award of contract a corporate surety bond, acceptable to the governmental entity, for the faithful performance of the contract, in an amount equal to one hundred percent of the amount of the contract. The bid security shall be in an amount of five (5) percent of the total bid amount, and shall be in the form of a cashiers check or certified check drawn on a state-chartered or federally chartered bank, or a certified share draft drawn on a state-chartered or federally chartered credit union, or the governmental entity may provide for a bidder's bond with corporate surety satisfactory to the governmental entity. The bidder's bond shall contain no conditions except as provided in this section Underground Directional Boring Contractor to furnish and install 4 HDPE Duct, install Owner furnished electrical equipment bases, and pull Owner furnished power cable into the ductwork. Plans and Specifications are provided for the proposed installation of approximately 15,000 circuit feet of power cable. Electrical work related to the installation including cable testing and termination will be provided by the Owner. Estimated cost of the work performed under this Contract is $500,000.00. Bids shall be provided for that purpose and according to the Project Documents prepared by Shermco Industries dated January 2022. The bid form shall be submitted on paper in a sealed envelope to the Owner and the technical proposal submitted electronically to the Owner and Engineer. Submittals must contain the information required by these instructions to be considered complete. A public hearing will be held, and the bids will be reviewed, considered, and acted upon at the regularly scheduled Utility Board Meeting to be held at 9:30 a.m. on March 14, 2022 at the office of the Villisca Municipal Power Plant located at 101 South U Ave, Villisca, Iowa 50864. Award will follow at said meeting or such later time and place as shall then be determined. Start Date: April 1, 2022
