Audio Visual Equipment and Installation Services - IREPRO Grant. This Request for Proposal (RFP) is issued for the purpose of seeking proposals from qualified companies who can provide Audio Visual Equipment and Services. The intent of this specification is to secure, under contract, the proper installation of audio/visual systems in classrooms, computer labs, conference rooms, seminar rooms,and digital signage locations. B. The A/V systems installation is intended to be complementary to and integrated with the space design. In addition to selecting components appropriate for the task, it is the A/V Contractor's responsibility to ensure the equipment is shipped, properly configured, delivered to the site, installed in advance of project completion, and tested consistent with the construction schedule provided by the General Contractor. C. Careful coordination and communication with the Owner, Architect, General Contractor, A/V Consultant, Electricians, Cable Contractor, and Furniture Vendor(s) will be required throughout the A/V installation process. D. The A/V Contractor shall provide all new materials, labor, testing, labeling, and certification for all A/V cables and components as specified in this document. Used or refurbished materials are not acceptable. E. The A/V Contractor's response must include all submittals herein, as well as a detailed Bill of Materials listing the proposed components, configuration, programming, cabling, network interconnection, and installation of all equipment associated with this bid. F. The A/V Contractor shall be aware the project must be completed on time and in accordance with the Owner's schedule. The A/V Contractor shall assume responsibility for adhering to the installation schedule and defined milestones. The A/V Contractor shall include in the price all hours necessary to complete the work on time. No additional overtime shall be paid. G. The A/V systems selected shall be installed in accordance with the all manufacturer guidelines and specifications. These documents together with this specification are the basis for the installation, testing, and acceptance of the A/V systems installation. H. A/V infrastructure support elements to include conduit, back boxes, electrical, plywood blocking, and structural reinforcement are the responsibility of the General Contractor. The A/V Contractor shall coordinate with the Owner and other vendors where appropriate to facilitate the A/V equipment installation, scheduling, and physical protection. J. Contractor/Installer must be a TekVox certified installer. K. The A/V Contractor is responsible for conforming to the South Texas Safety Council andall City, State, and Federal Safety guidelines. The A/V Contractor shall also adhere to and follow the General Contractor's site safety guidelines. L. The A/V Contractor shall own and maintain tools and equipment necessary for successful installation and testing of all A/V systems, as well as have full-time W2 employees who are adequately trained in the use of such tools and equipment. M. The use of sub-contractors is permitted by Lone Star College. However, they shall be identified in advance and shall be certified and properly trained to install the A/V systems and components described in the scope of work.
