The Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) is inviting bids to Replace Region III Training Buildings at the Ramsey Unit in Rosharon, Texas. This project consists of a 9,163 square foot facility for training, including two assembly areas, and offices and workspace for training staff. This facility will include the required circulation systems, restrooms, break areas, and mechanical and electrical spaces, and is to be co-located with the existing office building on the Training Academy Campus. It shall be constructed to meet all applicable building and life safety codes, ADA / Texas Accessibility Standards, and comply with ASHRAE Standard 90.1; to be elevated above the existing floodplain and constructed to withstand storm force winds published for its location. Construction is to include an elevated electrical service with generator pad, new wastewater lines with lift station, repaved parking surfaces, vehicle entrances and fencing. All work shall be performed as shown in the construction plans prepared by the TDCJ Facilities Engineering Department. Contractor must provide evidence that demonstrates the contractor is qualified to satisfactorily perform the specified work and must have worked in this trade for at least five (5) years. The contractor shall submit written evidence to include a minimum of three (3) projects completed within the last ten (10) years of similar work, size and complexity to include the owner's name, telephone number, location, type of facility, construction cost and the date of completion with all bid proposals. Contractors are required to submit a HUB Subcontracting Plan as detailed in Exhibit 1. Failure to submit a completed HUB Subcontracting Plan will result in the bid being rejected from further consideration. Contractor must be bondable and insurable at the levels required.
