Primary Work: Approximately 24,300 lbs. Route and Seal Cracks, 66,700 sq yds Emulsified Seal Coat, 3,260 ft Crack Leveling, Pavement Markings, and various other items of related construction at various airports. SDDOT Prequalification Classification: Work Type 6. Prequalification on state construction contracts is required unless the amount being bid is less than $250,000. A prospective bidder must be prequalified prior to the time and date specified for bid opening. A prospective bidder may apply for prequalification by completing and executing a Contractor's prequalification statement on a form approved by the Department. This application must be received by the Department's classification and rating committee at least 14 calendar days before the opening of the prospective bidder's bid, unless a shorter time frame is approved by the committee. Each bid must be accompanied by a certified check, cashier's check or draft in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total bid, and drawn on a solvent State or National Bank, or a ten percent (10%) Bid Bond issued by a surety authorized to do business in the State of South Dakota and payable to the South Dakota Department of Transportation, South Dakota. Separate Payment and Performance Bonds guaranteeing faithful performance of the Contract and payment of all labor, materials, rentals, etc., will be required for an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the amount of the Contract. All bonds must be issued or co-signed by a licensed resident agent of South Dakota.
