Renovation of a water / sewer project in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a water / sewer project.
Flood pumps at the Wastewater Treatment Plant are used when the Chippewa River and groundwater levels rise. They pump the plant effluent and groundwater over the dike protecting the plant from possible flooding from the Chippewa River. The original pumps were installed in 1980,suffer from reliability issues and parts are becoming obsolete. The pumps are used multiple times a year during high water events and are critical to prevent plant flooding. As of January 23, 2025, this project is included in the City of Eau Claire's Fiscal Year 2025-2029 CIP. Further information regarding a design firm and timeline for construction has not yet been awarded yet. Funding is allotted for FY 2025. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
