The project involves structural modification, superstructure replacement and substructure rehabilitation from Dufferin Street to Strachan Avenue for the elevated portion of the Gardiner (from West Abutment to Bent 35). City lands at 520 Lakeshore Blvd E will be provided under license to use as a prefabrication site. The rehabilitation will be realized through a Design-Build (DB) method. The Project scope includes all design, construction, management, and other specialty services required to perform the work, including but not limited to the following: Design and construction of superstructure replacement. Design and construction of necessary modification and rehabilitation of existing substructures, including patch repairs, refacing and galvanic corrosion protection. Design, coordination, relocation, and reinstatement, and upgrading of illumination, utility, signage, and traffic signals, RESCU, and associated electrical/power works. Quality assurance and quality control during design and construction. Traffic and construction staging and management. All works related to drainage and storm water management and environmental and soil management measures. TIMELINE: Prequalification for design-builders was awarded July 2022 The owner has awarded 2 teams have been prequalified & have been invited to submit a proposal, closing date & time will not be released. Teams: Aecon Infrastructure & Grascan/Torbridge JV. Award of contract expected in 2023, construction will occur in 2024. Updates will be made upon award of contract.
