Site work for a water / sewer project in Rice Lake, Minnesota. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
The Project generally consists of extension of watermain along Howard Gnesen and Martin Roads within the City. Project is presented as a Base Bid and includes three Bid Alternatives to be provided. Base Bid The Project Base Bid is generally described as extending a watermain from it's current terminus in the Right-of-Way of Martin Road, westward to Howard Gnesen Road. This includes the following: 1,250 LF of 10" HDPE Watermain 4 10" Gate Valves 2 8" Gate Valves 2 Fire Hydrant Assemblies 10 LF of 8" HDPE Watermain Temporary water service to City facilities Bid Alternate 1 - Replacement of Existing Watermain From Luzerne Road North Bid Alternate 1 is generally describes as extending a watermain along Howard Gnesen Road from the terminus resulting from the Base Bid at Martin Road and Howard Gnesen Road southward to Luzerne Road, including installing hydrants and appurtenances. This includes the following: 390 LF of 10" HDPE Watermain 1 10" Gate Valve 1 8" Gate Valve 1 Fire Hydrant Assembly 35 LF of 8" HDPE Watermain Bid Alternate 2 - Replacement of Existing Watermain From Kingston Road North Bid Alternate 2 is generally describes as extending a watermain along Howard Gnesen Road from the terminus resulting from Bid Alternate 1 at Howard Gnesen Road and Luzerne Road southward to the existing terminus located between Kingston Road and West Calvary Road, including providing water services and installing hydrants and appurtenances. This includes the following: 1,150 LF of 10" HDPE Watermain 1 10" Gate Valve 1 8" Gate Valve 1 Fire Hydrant Assembly 30 LF of 8" HDPE Watermain Bid Alternate 3 - Replacement of Existing Watermain From Calvary Road North Bid Alternate 3 will include the replacement of an existing 10" DIP watermain along Howard Gnesen Road from West Calvary Road northward to it's existing terminus, including reconnection of existing water services and replacement of hydrants and appurtenances. This includes the following: 650 LF of 10" HDPE Watermain 1 10" Gate Valve 2 Fire Hydrant Assemblies Temporary water service to existing customers Each Bid shall be accompanied by a Bidder's Bond executed by the Bidder as principal and by a surety company authorized to do business in the State of Minnesota, payable to the City of Rice Lake, in a sum equal to five (5) percent of the full amount of the Bid. This is to serve as a guarantee that the Bidder will enter into a Contract within 15 days of Notice of Award in accordance with the terms of the principal's Bond and a contractor's Bond as required by law and the regulations and determinations of the governing board for the performances of such Work. Only Bids that are accompanied by such a Bond will be considered. Bidder must be licensed for the full amount of the Bid. No Bid will be read or considered which does not fully comply with the above provisions as to bond and license. All Bidders must certify they are a Responsible Contractor by signing a certification form stating they meet the minimum requirements under Minnesota Statute 16C.285. This form can be found in Section 00 43 29 of the project documents. No Bid will be read or considered unless it fully complies with the Bond and license requirements. Any deficient Bid will be resealed and returned to the Bidder. All Bids will be made on the basis of cash payment for such Work. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all Bids, waive any informalities in the Bids received, and further reserves the right to award the Contract in the best interest of the Owner. The Owner reserves the right to hold the three (3) lowest Bids for a period not to exceed sixty (60) days after the date of Bid opening.
