Site work, asbestos abatement and renovation of a fire / police facility in New Britain, Connecticut. Completed plans call for the renovation of a fire / police facility; for site work for a fire / police facility; and for asbestos abatement for a fire / police facility.

It is anticipated that the contractor will provide abatement services as well as renovation services. The project is anticipated to be done in two phases so that the facilities can remain operational during the construction. This asbestos abatement and renovations will been divided into 2 phases for each fire station. It is anticipated that Station #2 will be completed first followed by Station #1. There would be 2 separate containments, 2 clearance tests, set up take down of 2 decontamination chambers (DECON) and any revisions to the asbestos notification with the state of CT. It is understood that replacement of flooring and ceiling tiles shall also be completed in that area prior to commencement of the next phased area. Once construction starts it is anticipated that the Phased areas shall be completed within a reasonable and pre-negotiated time frame. The City will seek liquidated damages should the project not be completed within this time frame. It is anticipated that once the materials have been abated, that the flooring be skim coated with two coats and buffed smooth. We anticipate to install LVT (Luxury Vinyl Tile) over the finished floor with a minimum (5 year warranty). Warranties over 5 years should be noted in your bid. Include documents that specify/define the materials plan to be used. The ceiling shall be replaced not only in the abated areas but throughout the facility with a new 2'x2' ceiling grid and tiles to match. Pricing bid form shall include two prices, one for a new ceiling tile throughout the facility and the other for just the hazardous material ceiling tiles that need to be replaced in the bathroom and stairwells. It is understood that the City has the right to award the project how it deems fitting in the best interest of the City and as funds are available awarded to Atlantic Restoration and Remodeling of New Britain, CT. The amount was $71,711.93.
