Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Freeport, Maine. Completed plans call for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot; playground / park / athletic field; and water / sewer project.

General scope of work: o Excavation of existing retaining wall (materials to be repurposed for necessary replacement retaining wall use ) o All site work to road for ramp, staircase and walkways per plans. This portion of the project does not include crosswalk or parking areas. o Installation of concrete ramp, steps, landing, paved walkways and necessary handrails per plans. o All necessary erosion control walls. Contractor shall provide the manufacturers warranty information for any and all related products installed. Contractor shall also warranty work on the installation for a minimum period of two years from time of installation. Contractor and subcontractor(s) shall carry a minimum liability insurance coverage of $1,000,000 bodily injury/property damage and all applicable workers' compensation and vehicle insurance. Successful contractor and subcontractor(s) will provide the Town with a copy of insurance certificate naming the Town of Freeport as an additional insured. The Town of Freeport reserves the right to award a contract to the contractor which is perceived to offer the best pricing and best fulfills the needs of the Town of Freeport. A contract may or may not be awarded to the low bidding contractor, depending upon other important considerations. The Town is responsive to cost saving ideas from contractors which will contribute to the successful conclusion of the project. Full payment will be made after completion of the project and an inspection by a town official. Please make note of any payment schedules which you, as a contractor, will require throughout the course of the project. Construction must meet all state and local building codes as well as be ADA compliant. Bidding contractors must have Best Management Certification in sediment and erosion control. This also applies to erosion control and storm water standards during construction. Please provide an approximate start date and completion date. If winning Contractor uses sub-contractors to complete any of the work, the winning Contractor will warranty all work done by subcontractors and assume responsibility for payments to the subcontractors. Contractor must notify the Town of who the sub-contractor(s) will be. The Town of Freeport reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids and further reserves the right to select the bid best suited to the Town's needs.
