The City of Sedro-Woolley solicits interest from consulting firms with expertise in Civil Engineering Design. The agreement is for approximately May 2022 through December 2023 with the option for the City to extend it for additional time and money if necessary. Consultants will be considered for the following project. The City reserves the right to amend terms of this Request for Qualifications (RFQ) to circulate various addenda, or to withdraw the RFQ at any time, regardless of how much time and effort consultants have spent on their responses.
The work performed by the Consultant consists of preparing preliminary engineering design and right of way services for the City of Sedro-Woolley Township Street (SR 9), John Liner Rd / McGarigle Rd Intersection Improvements Project (TIB 8-2-126(013)-1). The project will reconstruct the existing two-way stop controlled intersection with a signal including dedicated left turn pockets on all legs. Included in the project are signal protected pedestrian crossing on all lanes, along with connection to the existing sidewalks on SR9 and shared use path facilities on McGarigle to be connected to planned extensions on John Liner Road. The new signal will be interconnected with the existing signal at the SR20/SR9 Intersection located 0.26 miles south. Daily traffic volumes entering the intersection exceed 7,000 vehicles. The proposed improvements consists of intersection channelization improvements including signal installation, drainage, HMA pavement, curbing and sidewalk/path improvements. Design work to include topographic survey, geotechnical evaluation, environmental documentation, preparation of permit applications, determination of right of way needs and right of way plan preparation, channelization plan for WSDOT approval, signal modification design and right of way acquisition services. Design Phase work is scheduled to start in May 2022, with completion no later than February 2023. The City reserves the right to retain the services of the successful firm for the subsequent construction phase associated with this project. The project is funded by state and local funds. This project does not include an Underutilized Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (UDBE) goal for professional services. Qualification and performance statements will be reviewed according to the City of SedroWoolley's Guidelines for Consultant Selection.
