As of April 7, 2022 This project is already awarded to TRC Construction Inc. with the awarded amount of $622,851.68. The work of this pipeline relocation involves the installation of approximately 8,660 feet of 8-inch diameter C900 PVC pipe and fittings, along with 21 gate valves and one hydrant within the right-of-way (ROW) of NM 173. The new pipe will be installed at a minimum depth of 3 feet below existing grade, with the pipe deeper in other sections where soil will be removed during road improvements. Upon completion of road improvements, the pipe will have a minimum cover of 4 feet. Also included in this project is the installation of a surge anticipation valve in the existing East Aztec Pump Station. All materials will be provided by the City of Aztec. When installation of the buried piping and surge valve is completed, pressure tested and disinfected, the pipeline will be connected to the existing water pipe at each end of the installation and to the in and out piping of the Lower East Aztec Water Storage Tank. Because this project needs to be completed before road improvements begin, the current long delivery times for materials, and the probability that this contract will not be issued until late February, the City has ordered a large majority of the materials needed for this project. The materials purchased are listed on the attached Ferguson Waterworks quotation. In addition to these items, the City will supply 21 valve boxes with lids and the two fire hydrants. The items that are not being supplied by the City are listed as "Provide and install" in the Scope of Work tasks included with the bid form. Items that are provided by the City are listed as "Provide all labor and equipment to install" in the Scope of Work tasks. The Scope of Work tasks are numbered to correspond to the bid form task numbers. This pipeline is being relocated to avoid interference with a planned New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) road improvement on NM 173. This relocation needs to be completed prior to start of the NMDOT improvements planned to begin in approximately April 1, 2022. Project completion date is May 31, 2022.
