Jackson County Roads Department would like to identify applicators interested in applying their dust abatement products to county-maintained gravel roads in Jackson County. Product approval is already in place for Lignin Sulfonate as well as Earthbind 100. Other products can be submitted for approval with the primary determining factor being environmental safety. Please indicate your desire to be included in our applicator listing by emailing JCRoadsAdmin@jacksoncounty.org and providing your name and contact information and the product(s) you wish to use. Our staff will contact you back with any questions. The general framework of the Dust Abatement Program is as follows: Citizens may contract with applicators directly for dust abatement services - not with Jackson County Applicators will obtain a no-cost permit which will provide guidance on working in the county road right-of-way. Permit conditions will include items such as signage, traffic control, and coordination details. When needed, Jackson County Roads will coordinate with applicators to schedule dust abatement application which may include prepping the road surface. Jackson County Roads will prepare/grade the road sections at no cost prior to treatment when conditions require on county-maintained gravel roads. Applicators will not be allowed to prepare the roadway base such as performing grading or adding new gravel.
