RVC is seeking Submissions from Contractors interested in becoming pre-qualified to bid on the standard bridge replacements at Bridge Files (BF) 13808, 71189, and 75854, which will be constructed in 2022. BF 13808, a three-span concrete girder bridge (8.5 m - 10.1 m - 8.5 m), carries Range Road (RR) 264 over the Rosebud River, 4 km north of Irricana. The crossing provides access to local residents, gravel and agricultural operations and the oil and gas industry, providing a quick corridor to access provincial highway 72 to the north. The replacement structure will be a threespan SLW-girder bridge, however, specifics have not been determined and no drawings are available at this time. The construction completion date will be October 15, 2022. BF 71189, a 6.1 m long concrete girder bridge, carries RR 12 over Writing Creek, 8 km north of Airdrie. The road offers access to local residents and agricultural operations. The replacement structure is anticipated to be a single span SL-girder bridge. The construction completion date will be October 31, 2022. BF 75854, a three-span concrete girder bridge (8.5 m - 8.5 m - 8.5 m), 6 km southwest of Langdon, carries Township Road (TR) 232 over the Western Irrigation District (WID) Canal A. TR 232 offers access to numerous agricultural operations from both Langdon and Calgary alongside multiple WID accesses. The replacement structure is anticipated to be a three-span SL-girder bridge. The construction completion date will be March 31, 2023. Contractors are advised that as this is an operational canal, construction may not commence until the WID has drained the canal in October, 2022. It is anticipated that each bridge file will be tendered separately. LEX3 Engineering Inc. has been engaged to complete the design of the new bridge crossings, which are underway. However, specifics of the new bridges have not yet been developed and no drawings are available at this time.
