Demolition, site work, renovation and addition to a civil project in Amity, Oregon. Completed plans call for the renovation of a water / sewer project; for site work for a water / sewer project; for the addition of a water / sewer project; and for the demolition of a water / sewer project.
Base Bid The Base Bid Work includes expansion and upgrades to the City of Amity's water treatment plant. The Project includes construction of: a new raw water intake facility at a new location; a pipeline from the new intake facility to the existing raw water pipeline; a new pretreatment, controls, and clear well complex; piping modifications to the existing filters and the filter building; construction of new backwash and storm water ponds; demolition of the old water treatment plant; and site improvements to accommodate the new structures. Control Panel Allowance: This Item is an allowance for Contractor's for the purchase and installation of PLC Panels. At this time, panel design has not been completed so the total cost of this work is unknown. The Owner provided integrator will be the system integrator as described in Section 40 70 00. The Contractor will have a system installer that will coordinate with the system integrator to install the equipment. Additive Bid No. 1 ADD ADDITIVE BID ITEM 1 FOR DEMOLITION OF EXISTING BUILDING/CLEARWELL Additive Bid Item No. 1 includes demolition of the existing building and clearwell. Work includes demolition and removal of the existing pretreatment building (including all components inside) to ground level; filling existing clearwell with aggregate; and restoration of surfaces. Additive Bid No. 2 ADD ADDITIVE BID ITEM 2 FOR TRACKING THE COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH ARCHAEOLOGICAL DISCOVERIES The actual number of Novel and/or Feature materials that will be unearthed during this project is unknown, but for bidding purposes it is assumed that the Contractor will encounter (6) six locations where the Archaeologist will stop work and cause the Contractor to relocate. These relocations will typically be 50 feet away from the discovery as described in the Summary of Work Section 01 11 00.3.1.C.2, but up to as far away as 100 feet according to Section 01 11 00.3.1.E.1. Compensation for this work will be paid on a Lump Sum basis with an assumed number of (2) two Novel or Feature material discoveries. The cost for this work will be based on the following: o Once a Novel or Feature material is discovered, the Contractor will lose (2) two work hours per discovery to coordinate with the onsite Archaeologist and Resident Project Representative and relocate personnel and equipment a distance of 50 feet away from the discovery. o Assume that the Archaeologist will take (5) five days to hand excavate and document each discovery and the Contractor's excavation crew will excavate 300 linear feet of trench per day. Once the Archaeologist's work is complete, the Contractor's crew and equipment will need to return to the discovery's site to complete the trench excavation, which after five days are assumed to be 1,500 feet away from the site. o This item's base cost will be used as a basis for negotiation if a Novel or Feature material is discovered during construction. The actual compensation amount will be a mutually agreed upon sum based on evidence provided by the Contractor documenting actual standby time and distance traveled for each discovery.
