The Florida's Turnpike Enterprise (FTE) has identified high priority locations within the Florida's Turnpike system for the design and construction of Wrong Way Vehicle Detection Systems (WWVDS), devices, and signs to monitor, detect, and deter the wrong way driver, as well as notify law enforcement and Traffic Management Center (TMC) staff for appropriate response. A total of 44 WWVDS will be designed and constructed encompassing 44 exit ramps in Central Florida. Comprehensive testing of the WWVDS systems will comprise of ramp closures to verify that each ramp and each lane at each ramp properly detects wrong way motorists, alerts the motorists with onsite notification aids and remote alarm notifications. Estimated Contract Time: 1128 calendar days Actual commitment and final execution of this contract is contingent upon an approved legislative budget and availability of funds.
