Site work and new construction of an educational facility in Norwalk, Connecticut. Completed plans call for the construction of a 62,288-square-foot, two-story above grade educational facility; and for site work for a educational facility.

The amount of each bid, and such other relevant information as may be specified by the bid, together with the name of each bidder shall be recorded; the record and each bid shall be open to public inspection. The work consists of the site improvements, construction of the New Cranbury Elementary School and the demolition of the existing Cranbury Elementary School in Norwalk, Connecticut. The bidder must have prior experience consisting of no less than three similar projects with an equal or greater value within the last five years. Bidders must provide verification of experience with proposal. The Contractor shall hold a current "DAS Contractor Prequalification Certificate" from the Department of Administrative Services of the State of Connecticut according to Connecticut General Statute 4a-100, 4b-101 and 4b-91. If applicable, DAS Certified Set Aside Contractors Certificate, as well as additional items list in Instructions to Bidders. Bidder must provide and upto-date DAS Update Statement with the Bid. Failure to submit these items with the bid will result in disqualification of the bidder per the public act. All inquiries must be submitted to the Newfield Construction Project Manager, Michael D'Angelo, by 5:00 PM on Friday, March 4th, 2022. No oral, telephone, or telegraphic proposals will be considered. All bids shall stand available for acceptance for a period of one hundred twenty (120) days from the date bids are opened. Alternate bids shall stand available for acceptance for a period of one hundred eighty (180) days from the date the bids are open. The project shall be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder in accordance with Connecticut General Statute 10-287(b), however, the City of Norwalk and the Construction Manager reserves the right to waive any informality in any Bids or to reject any and all bids, or any part of any bid, when it is determined to be in the best interest of the City or the Construction Manager to do so. A 10% Bid Security is required from each Bidder at the time of bid submission. The selected bidder will be required to post Performance and Payment Bonds for the full amount of the Contract Sum, (if in excess of $100,000.00 dollars). The cost of such bonds shall be included in the bid price. This project is exempt from Federal Excise Taxes as well as State of Connecticut Sales Tax to the extent allowed by law.
