Site work for a water / sewer project in Reno, Nevada. Conceptual plans call for site work for a water pump station.

The City of Reno is currently accepting sealed submissions for a qualified professional engineering consultant. This Request is exempt from standard N.R.S. 332 guidelines per Chapter 332.115(1)(b). The selection of qualified professional engineering consultant is within the discretion of the governing body. The City is seeking a qualified professional engineering consultant to assist the City in the evaluation of the existing denitrifying fluidized bed reactors (FBRs) and nitrification pump station (NPS) at TMWRF, and predesign services for expanding the capacity of the NPS and denitrification process to encumber future flows in the vicinity of the Truckee Meadows Water Reclamation Facility (Washoe County Nevada-APN: 021-020-02) of the Reno/Sparks area in Washoe County, Nevada. The expanded NPS and denitrification process would serve as a functional facility designed to current seismic and structural codes, and be sized large enough for current and future sewer flows. The City assumes that consideration for the construction of an expanded denitrification process and improvements to the existing FBRs and NPS will require a Geotechnical evaluation, site selection, building layout and logistics, civil and structural pre-design, hydraulic and wastewater process modeling, and a seismic evaluation for the existing facilities. The evaluation of the existing building involves a design analysis and cost estimates to bring the building to the current seismic code(s) (if necessary), an evaluation of the process performance of the existing system, and existing hydraulic and process constraints. A cost estimate will be prepared as an opinion of probable construction cost consistent with the Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineering (AACE) guidelines for a class V cost estimate for the improvements and expansion project. Based on the results of the evaluation and pre-design, the City may select the consultant for additional design services of the option selected by the City. The consultant is to be comprised of professional engineer(s) registered in Nevada, who possess comprehensive experience in denitrifying fluidized bed reactors, denitrification technology and process knowledge, municipal wastewater facility design, municipal wastewater process modeling, hydraulic modeling and pump stations, and municipal wastewater treatment engineering. It is preferred the consultant have experience with Construction Manager At Risk (CMAR) as a construction project delivery method. The method of contractor selection has not been determined at this time. Online Q&A Yes Q&A Deadline 03/09/2022 2:00 PM (PST)
