Renovation of a detention facility in Yaphank, New York. Completed plans call for the renovation of a detention facility.
Deterioration, Cracking and Bursting Are Occurring at Several Location in the Existing Glass Block Openings in the Service Corridor of the Jail. Glass Fragments Can Be Seen on the Floor, in the Hallway Causing Safety Concerns for Inmates and Staff. The Glass Block Sections Will Be Demolished Including the Glazing, Frames, Caulking and All Wood Blocking and New Aluminum, Fixed Windows Will Be Installed in Their Place. The Project Drawings and Specifications Developed in-house With Dpw Bd&c Personnel. The Work Includes: 1. Demolition and Disposal of Existing Glass Block Sections at 19 Existing Window Openings, Roughly 3'-0" X 8'-0"in Dimension. 2. Furnishing and Install All New Aluminum Thermally Broken Frames and Insulated Fixed Glazing. All Glazing Shall Have a U-value of .38 Per the 2020 Nys Energy Code. 3. Furnishing and Install All Acq Blocking, Caulking, Backer Rod and Sealants as Required. It Is Intended That the Work Under This Project to Be Completed Substantially Within 150 Days After Issuance of the Notice to Proceed.
