The City of Grand Forks herein, referred to as "Owner," engages contractor as an independent contractor, and not as an employee, to provide mowing and herbicide application services for the sanitation baling facility, wastewater treatment plant and lagoons, residual ponds, and other associated areas as indicated on the attached maps. The work will include, but is not limited to, mowing, trimming including cracks in concrete driveways, etc., edging, debris removal, and herbicide application, and other related work. Quote Submission The Contractor must submit their quote on the forms provided by the Owner. All blank spaces on the quote forms, including the Contractor's address and authorized signature, must be correctly entered in ink. All quote submissions must include: Completed and signed Quote Sheets (2). An electronic signature is acceptable. Completed list of all equipment available for use in executing the work of this contract. The equipment must be in the Contractor's possession at the time of Quote submission, no exceptions. o Copy of a current ND herbicide application certification - both ornamental turf and right-of-way licenses required. The Owner reserves the right to reject a quote submission deemed incomplete. The work will include but is not limited to mowing, weed whip trimming, edging, tree and debris removal, herbicide application, and other related work. This consists of all berms and right of ways associated with the property unless otherwise noted. The frequency of mowing is determined by the growing season and, on average, is mowed at least eight (8) times per year unless otherwise indicated. Mowing of the lagoon and residual ponds includes the entire edge of the pond and slopes, which will vary depending on soil conditions and the depth of water in the pond. Mowing and maintenance work shall include removing and disposing of twigs, small branches, and other minor litter that can be collected from the mower and deposited into a 5-gallon bucket. Larger pieces of trash such as driftwood or construction debris will be collected and removed under the Laborer Bid Item of the contract if authorized by the Owner. The mowing shall not result in the scalping of the turf, displacement or rutting of the underlying soil, or other damage to the Owner's property or adjacent private property. If such damage is discovered, the Contractor must immediately modify the mowing operation, notify the Owner, and plan for repairs at their own expense, as approved by the Owner.
