The proposed work includes all labor, materials, tools, supplies, utility and transportation services, equipment and all incidentals necessary for the BID Pershing Avenue Resurfacing For all bids over $100,000, the City of Davenport requires a Bid Bond of 5% of the bid amount. A copy of the front page of the bid bond must be attached in the "Response Attachments" tab of the bid package. Bids over $100,000, submitted without a bid bond will not be considered. For awarded bids over $100,000, the awarded contractor will be required to furnish a Performance Bond in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract amount and a 4 year Maintenance Bond. Said bond to be issued by a responsible surety approved by the City and shall guarantee the faithful performance of the Contract and the terms and conditions therein contained. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive technicalities and irregularities, if it is deemed in the public interest to do so. The contract site is currently available. It is anticipated that the contract will be awarded on 23 March 2022 and executed by 1 April 2022. The Notice to Proceed will be issued as soon as the contract is executed by the City. The specified start date set by the Notice to Proceed will be approximately two weeks from the date of the Notice. The work includes the furnishing of all labor, materials, equipment and services necessary for full width HMA resurfacing, including: milling, full depth patches, HMA interlayer, HMA overlay, new curb & gutter sections, driveway approaches, ADA ramp improvements, topsoil, and seeding. The quantities herein represent the Engineers estimate of the amount of work to be completed. Actual as-built quantities may vary from bid quantities. The Contractor shall begin construction on or before the date specified and complete all work, including final cleanup and removal of all equipment within 25 working days. Liquidated damages shall be $500 per day Performance/Maintenance Bond for 100% of the total amount of the project, and a 4 year Maintenance Bond.
