McMaster University is seeking to retain the services of a qualified General Contractor for construction of the Peak Shavers Generators project. Qualified proponents are invited to submit responses in accordance with the terms of this Request for Proposal (hereafter referred to as RFP). McMaster intends to partake in several IESO market programs. This will be achieved through the installation of five (5) - 2MW natural gas generators (reciprocating engines). The generators will be primarily used for participation in the ICI program (peak shaving) with the option of utilizing it for other programs, such as Demand Response or Operating Reserves. Four (4) of the generators will be installed by the NF91 transformer yard and one (1) generator will be installed outside of ET Clarke Centre. Through the process of this RFP McMaster University is seeking to retain the services of a proponent to be assigned the purchase orders of the equipment and complete the supply and install of services required for the installation of the four (4) generators to be installed at the NF91 Transformer yard. McMaster University has procured the natural gas generators and switchgear for the project. Specification, shop drawings, and copies of the purchase orders for the equipment have been provided for reference. Through this RFP, the balance of the purchase orders for four (4) of the generators and switch gear will be assigned to the successful proponent. The purpose of the assignment of the purchase order is to maintain the constructor responsibility with the successful proponent and provide direct contact between the equipment vendor and the proponent. The assignment of the purchase order will be a direct flow through cost to the University with no Contractor mark-up and payment terms will be per the terms and conditions of the purchase order with the vendor and not subject to the terms and conditions set out in this RFP. The Scope of Services to be provided by the Proponent will include but is not limited to: - accepting the assignment of purchase orders of the equipment pre-ordered by McMaster University and complete the supply, install, and commissioning of the generators located at the NF91 yard. - Construction of new concrete foundations, slabs, trenches and fencing - Supply and installation of new E-House building - Civil & landscaping work included site grading and erosion control - Supply and installation of new wiring and accessories for power, lights, security and communications - Supply and installation of the new overhead service supports and connections to the existing 13.8 kVa system. - Supply and installation of new gas piping from the utility's gas station to the new generators and E-House - Commissioning/Verification of the new generators - The Project will comply with all governing legislation, codes, laws, by-laws and requirements of authorities having jurisdiction.
