The Ministry of Forests, Lands and Natural Resource Operations, Recreation Sites and Trails Branch provides the public with opportunities for recreation experiences in provincial forests through the development and maintenance of recreational sites and trails for public use, usually at no cost. The proposed contract requires the provision of regular maintenance, clean-up, minor repairs and Wildlife Danger Tree Assessment of 14 Recreation Sites listed in Schedule C of the Specimen Contract. The required services are described in full in Schedule A of the Specimen Contract. All sites are located in the Shuswap area of the Columbia Shuswap Recreation District. The locations of each site may be referenced from the Backroads Mapbook for Thompson-Okanagan Region, or to find more detailed descriptions of each site, including driving directions, visit the Recreation Sites and Trails While no specific use figures are available for the recreation sites to be serviced under this contract, the level of use typically varies for each site, depending upon numerous factors including proximity to local communities, road conditions, weather, number of campsites, recreational opportunities at the site, type and quality of boat launch, etc. Generally, the sites that have historically higher use will have more frequent site visits scheduled in Schedule C. The term of the contract will be from April 1, 2022 to March 15, 2023, however the anticipated "Service" Period will be from May 1st, 2022 - October 31st, 2022.
