Demolition, site work, paving and new construction of a civil project in Yakima, Washington. Conceptual plans call for the demolition of a bridge / tunnel; for the construction of a bridge / tunnel; for site work for a bridge / tunnel; for paving for a bridge / tunnel; road / highway; and road / highway.
Yakima County solicits interest from consulting firms with expertise in Civil and Structural Engineering Design. These agreements will be for approximately 48 months in duration with the option for Yakima County to extend it for additional time and money if necessary. Consultants will be considered for the following projects: North Fork Road Bridge #109 and North Fork Road Bridge #105. These are two separate projects, but due to their close proximity to each other and similar nature, they are to be designed by one bridge consultant. Yakima County reserves the right to amend terms of this "Request for Qualifications" (RFQ) to circulate various addenda, or to withdraw the RFQ at any time, regardless of how much time and effort consultants have spent on their responses. Project Description The work to be performed by the CONSULTANT consists of preparing preliminary engineering design for the improvement of the North Fork Road Bridge #109 and North Fork Road Bridge #105. The proposed improvements include removal and replacement of the bridges, maintaining traffic during construction, improving roadway alignment, and installing guardrail. The major features of the project are as follows: - Structural design for 32-foot wide concrete bridges. - Environmental documentation and preparation of permit applications. - Traffic control design to maintain traffic during construction. - Determination of R/W needs and R/W plan preparation. Yakima County reserves the right to retain the services of the successful firm(s) for any subsequent phases (R/W, CN) associated with this/these project(s). Evaluation Criteria Submittals will be evaluated and ranked based on the following criteria: 1) Qualification of Proposed Project Manager 2) Qualifications/Expertise of Firm 3) Ability to meet schedule 4)Approach to project 5) Familiarity with WSDOT/FHWA standards 6) Past Performance/References Any questions regarding this project should be directed to Ryan Young at (509) 574-2308.
